A huge programme of events is on the programme for the Ferrybank AC Open Sports at the RSC on Sunday next with the first event at 12 noon.and a huge entry is expected from many counties. Boys and girls in the under 8 to under 17 age groups have track and field events,junior men and women have a 100 m,800 m, high and long jump,senior men and women have a 100 m and 1 mile Juvenile race walkers under 1 to u 19 have a 1500 metres race all in one race,seniors and masters also a 1500 metres again all in one race. Separate relays for boys and girls iu9,u11,u13,15. mixed relays u 17 and junior (must be at least two girls in each team) Each athlete under 8,9,10,11and under 12 only will receive a Mc Donald's Happy Meal Voucher for Mc Donalds in City Centre Waterford and also Cork Road,Waterford.Please note athletes compete in their own age group but can move up one age in field events and relays.Full programme on Ferrybank AC website

On Saturday next two of Waterford's top race walkers compete in separate races in Podebrady in the Czech Republic..Kate Veale West Waterford competes in a 20 km event while ÓrlaO'Connor Waterford is in a 10 km race,we wish both well.
Day 1 of All Ireland Juvenile on Saturday
Athlone IT Arena is the venue on Saturday next for Day1 of the Irish Life Health All Ireland Juvenile Indoor Championships and as usual Waterford will be well represented. The meeting was originally fixed for an earlier date but was postponed due to the snow,first event Saturday at 10 am and full timetable on Athletics Ireland Website
Murphy wins Easter Bunny Run again
A record entry of 269 runners and 267 walkers entered the 6 th Annual Easter Bunny 5 miles run and 5 km walk in the city on Sunday last. 218 runners completed the course and the comfortable winner was the holder Brian Murphy Carrick on Suir AC in 26 minutes and 38 seconds,Walter Roche Ferrybank was second in 27.17 and Matteo Mary Waterford AC was third in 28.30.,Ruth Fitzgerald Waterford AC easily won the ladies section in 29.16,Naomi Doonan Ardnahoe Trotters was second in 33.12 and Linda Barnes was third in 33.28.The proceeds will go to Our Ladys Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin and with the large entry the cheque should be a substantial one,well done to all involved
5th Annual M T S Media Ballinroad 5K Starts Summer Series on Friday..
Friday next April 6th see’s the start of the Intersport Elverys/Asics Summer series for 2018 with the M T S Media Ballinroad 5k starting at 7 pm with Ballinroad Soccer club as the race H. Q. where entries will be taken on evening of race .The race is open to all over 16 years on the day.

The Kilmacow Sports fixed for last Monday and which were postponed have been re fixed for Sunday April 22 nd with the same programme of events at the same venue The Sports Complex Centre in Kilmacow and same starting time of 1 pm
