All the clubs in the county had plenty of athletes competing at the final section of the County Track and Field Championships at the RSC on Sunday last and all collected medals,West Waterford,Waterford, Ferrybank, Tramore, KCK, Finisk Valley,Blackwater .Three athletes had 4 wins each Jack Corcoran WAC U13 , Emily O'Mahoney do U16, Ann Corcoran (FB) u18 ,trebles were recorded by Dion Ryan WAC u18 ,Evan Hayes do U14, Paula Igwe (FB) U14, Denise O'Connor (Tra) ,Cathal Scanlon WAC U15, and doubles by Petra Igwe (FB) U10 ,Claire Butler (Tramore) U11, Orlaith Walsh (WAC) U12 ,Grace Kervick (FB) U15, Lorna Monaghan (FB) U17 ,Emma Brent (WAC) Senior , David Gaffney ( WWAC) u 10, Tom Halley( Tramore) u 12 ,Raad Khan ( WAC) u 14 and Cian O'Brien do junior.
Waterford schools dominate East Munster's
At the East Munster boys Secondary Schools Track and Field championships in Templemore on Wednesday last athletes from Waterford schools excelled Doubles were recorded by the following; Senior; Cormac Mc Cann De La Salle 100 and 200 m, Diarmuid Clancy Mean Scoil San Nioclás 400 m and 400 m hurdles, Eoghan Flynn Dungarvan CBS javelin and discus. Intermediate; long jump and triple jump James Murphy Árd Scoil na Mara Tramore and Eoin Kenny De La Salle shot putt and discus, Barry Keane St Declans Kilmacthomas set a new record in winning the senior 3000 metres in 8 minutes 48 seconds. St Augustine's won the junior cup and Waterpark the Bro O' Donovan Cup. Ton Le Ghaoithe Fixture
Many of Ireland's top sprinters, hurdlers,javelin throwers and high jumper's competed at the RSC on Saturday last in the second Annual Ton Le Ghaoithe- Wind Sprint Meeting and it was a most successful and enjoyable fixture. A number of athletes from Waterford clubs figured prominently in some of the events,two young athletes from Waterford AC had fine throws in the javelin events both finishing second Eoghan Flynn with 53.07 metres and Órlaith O'Brien with 40.04 metres, sisters Sorcha and Neasa Murphy Ferrybank were second and third in the high jump with 1.60 and 1.55 metres,Dion Ryan Waterford was also second in high jump on 1.90 metres. Niamh Whelan Ferrybank had a second in the 100 metres in 11.75, Brendan Leahy Waterford won his 200 metres race in 23.73.others to do well were Katie Murphy,Anne Corcoran ,Ben Kiely,Emily Nolan all Ferrybank ,Lance Baylan Waterford and Paudie Barron West Waterford,
Murphy wins in Tramore
190 competed in the Splashworld 10 km Road Race last Friday evening in Tramore in brilliant weather conditions and Brian Murphy Ck On Suir finished strongly to win in a time of 32 minutes 35 seconds ,Kieran Jackson was second in 33 minutes and Eoin Lyons was third in 33.42 both from Waterford Triathlon Club..Sylvia Malone Waterford AC was first lady home iin 39 minutes, Sally Forristal St Joseph'was second in 40.16. and Vanessa Bray was third in 42.40 Many walkers also took part in a 5 k event.The proceeds went to Tramore Community Track and the official starter was the legendary Rocky Mills

In Manchester on Saturday last in an international 800 metres race Niall Tuohy Ferrybank was 6 th in 1 minute 50.72 seconds and in the USA at the week end Aisling Quinn Ferrybank competing for Providence College reached the final of the Big East Collegiate 1500 metres Championships in Geneva,Ohio. she qualified for the final in a time of 4.35.9 and in the final was 9 th in 4.39.18 .Last week at a graded meeting in Tallaght Dublin Andrew Connick Ferrybank was second in a 1500 metres A race in 4.04.9 and in a B race Shane O'Reilly also from the same club was 4 th in 4.15.09
Munster Schools at RSC
For the very first time the GloHealth Munster Secondary Schools Track and Field finals will be at the RSC on Saturday next with a 9.30 am start. Hundreds of athletes from schools and colleges all over Munster will be competing in a very long days competition including many from Waterford schools,full timetable on Munster Schools Athletics werbsite

Athletes have until July 11 th to get qualifying standards for Rio Olympics,presently just one Waterford athlete Thomas Barr has the standard in the 400 metres hurdles.
