On Saturday and Sunday next the Munster under 14 to 19 Track and Field Championships are in Cork IT Grounds and all clubs in Waterford are expected to have athletes competing over the two days The full timetable is available on Munster Athletics website with the main programme starting both days at 11 am, but hammer competitions both days are at 9.30 am .

Quinlan easy Faithlegg winner
126 competed in the Second Annual Faithlegg Golf Course 5 miles run last Wednesday evening in beautiful weather over a very scenic course and Frank Quinlan was the runaway winner in a time of 27 minutes 28 seconds, ,Noel Murphy was second in 28.09 and Brian Swaby third in 28.27. all three from Waterford AC. The 14 th Annual Old Still Bar 5 miles road race was held in Clashmore last Friday evening with 120 competing and Danny Smyth Ballynonty a regular at all these races was first home in 27 minutes 24 second,Kevin Kenneally West Waterford was second in 28.51 and Anthony Flynn also West Waterford was third in 29.14.First lady home was Mary Molloy Ck on Suir in 34.41,Laura Flavin West Waterford was second in 35.22 and Stephanie Bailey third in 35.43. The category winners were as follows, Men M40 Alan Cullen West Waterford, M45 Yevgimy Chizikov do, M50 Ray Hahesy do,M55 Ron IIsley Ind. Niamh Whelan and Jessie Barr competed at a meeting in Geneva on Saturday last in seeded races Niamh was placed 5 th in both of her races,the 100 metres in 11.99 and 200 metres in 24.22 and Jessie was 6th in a 400 metres hurdles in 61,03 well outside her best. Kevin Cooper won a 10 miles in Newport Rhode Island USA on June 5 th in 54 minutes 45 seconds
Dromana 5 Miles
The 24th Annual Dromana 5 mile road race takes place this coming Friday, June 17th at 8 pm. The race will start in Villierstown and finish in Cappoquin. The Dungarvan Leader Dromana 5 is one of the club's best supported races and both the club and the sponsors are looking forward to another bumper turn out this Friday evening along the famed Dromana Drive. The race is number 7 in this year’s Ger Wyley Sports/SKINS summer series and we ask all runners to please note this race is the last opportunity to enter this year’s series as entries close on Friday evening

On Saturday July 30 th and Sunday July 31 st there are two Munster Ch ampionship fixtures in Waterford,on Saturday the B Juvenile and on Sunday the senior and master's.men and women.Local athletes should support both fixtures.
