Olympic year Ahead
2016 will be another Olympic Year with the Games in Rio De Janeiro and Waterford Athletics great record of having at least one representative in the Olympic Games each Olympiad since 1980 will continue in Rio as Thomas Barr has already qualified for the 400 metres hurdles becoming the second member of the family to become an Olympian his sister Jessie competed in London in 2012. Lots of other major fixtures ahead also for seniors, juniors and juveniles so plenty of chances for young Waterford hopefuls to make their name. But for the majority of our athletes its the County ,Provincial and National championships and road races for the many out jogging and the small number of competitive athletes.
